THINKING HANDS
All the works from the exhibition are the result of a month-long residency workshop with the artists, created in-situ at the KAASH space. The exhibition explores new representations of three very different forms of painting that were once wall-based and location specific: Gond art from Madhya Pradesh, Warli from Maharashtra and Meena art from Rajasthan.
KAASH experimented and worked with the artists to explore new materials, such as Corten Steel, wood, and blackboard. The materials, all from the earth, seem to echo facets of the original form of the craft and their background material.
