THE GLIMMER OF BLACK

KAASH hosted a display of EVOKE London’s Bidriware objects. Bidriware, from Bidar, India, is a 500 year old art-form with its origins in Persia. The art involves inlay of a soft metal, usually silver on an alloy of copper and zinc. The metal alloy is then coated with black soil only found near the fort of Bidar, creating a stark contrast with the silver inlay. In the exhibition, KAASH highlighted the reflective properties of Bidriware by creating a dazzling light show. The exhibition was held from 14 August to 14 September 2021.
